We sailed with Captain Sparky (Mark Steven Pomianowski) to scatter our mother's ashes this last Saturday (2/3/24). He took us to the Kirby Cove and made the whole trip an amazing experience. He was very professional and experienced. He became one more member of our family.
Neptune memorials was incredibly easy to work with to book our ash scattering. Sue was kind and genuine and provided us with an outstanding attention.
The website is very easy to navigate and other reviews proved that Neptune Memorials is the best choice for this kind of service. Great value!

We highly recommend Neptune Memorials as they provide amazing services. The staff, Captains & crew go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and at ease during the difficult time of scattering your loved ones ashes. Our Captain was Captain Rod, prior to getting on the sailboat he mentioned Sue had said that I get anxiety and that he would go slow and make it a comfortable ride and indeed he did, I had no anxiety, or sickness during the whole boat ride. Its really safe and the crew and Captain Rod really take care of you. When it was time to scatter my dads ashes, Captain Rod and his crew gave us space and let us take our time. It was a peaceful and beautiful moment and then on our way back to docking he took us around the Bay. I was really apprehensive prior to the trip but it was a beautiful and peaceful experience, Thank you Captain Rod, Sue, Captain Kirk & Fiona

Neptune Memorials is a team of wonderful, dedicated, kind souls. Kirk and Sue always responded quickly and were very flexible about scheduling my family in. Captain Mark and his assistant (Ruby I think) were very accommodating about how I wanted things done. They gave us plenty of time to say our goodbyes and made the trip as smooth as possible. Highly recommend them!

We used Neptune to plan an ash scattering on the Bay. Captain Kirk assisted us with attention, thought, and care throughout the process. Great communication in the lead-up as we managed a party including a 100-year old and a two-year old, planned a route/scattering spot, and then made contingency plans for a potentially difficult weather forecast (we got lucky in the end). On the day, the sailing was done expertly, we felt completely taken care of and could focus fully on saying goodbye to our loved one. The Osprey boat is beautiful and comfortable and made for a great setting (they kept the sails down and used just the motor which made for a smooth sail). 100 percent recommend.

Sue was so helpful and informative! She was very patient answering my many questions as I had never done a scattering of ashes before... by the time we ended our call I felt very confident that this was the perfect company to trust with with assisting me and my two other family members with scattering our loved ones ashes at sea!
Captain Kirk and Joni were so lovely, they were compassionate, informative and incredibly friendly throughout the entire trip!
I would gladly choose this company again in the future!

This was a very special and sacred journey for my family. We were bidding farewell to my husband, their father and grandfather.
Our crew was stellar and stayed tuned in to each of us, making sure we were feeling safe and comfortable and at home on board.
Having lived on a 36ft. Trimaran myself, I felt at home immediately, being on deck and on the water again.
Our range in ages was 9 years to 83 years and our Captain Efe related well with all of us. And First Mate Brenden kept a quiet eye especially on our kids (9 and 11) to make sure they were safe and attended to.
Our ceremony was peaceful. Our crew was sensitive to our needs and made our journey easy and wonderful.
I would not hesitate to return for another adventure with Captains Efe and Brenden..

My sister in law had researched about this place when she was planning her work events. We decided that we would use Mr Kirks services for my father in laws ash scattering in the bay.
The place was not so difficult to find, if we followed the directions. The captain was very friendly and very helpful. Everyone welcomed us and knew that the day was immensely emotional and also important for the entire family, and so kept the instruction part simple and sweet.
Our entire experience was memorable. We went across the bay bridge. Spotted people kayaking and doing water sports. We also spotted a bunch of dolphins. Watched a seagull feed the baby by docking station. The weather was just perfect with a hint of bay breeze.
Would definitely Captain Kirk for his great service and having a five star experience.

Our family had the opportunity to sail with Captain Kirk and crew on Sunday, May 22, 2022, on the San Francisco Bay to spread the ashes of our loved one. I found the experience to be very moving and memorial since he had served in the Navy. Capt. Kirk was very safety conscious, compassionate and kind to all our needs. He made sure we were comfortable. He was very informative about the Bay Area giving us bits of history. After the spreading of the ashes, we rang a bell eight times to indicate the end of the watch. We continued around the back of Angel Island where the waves were much smoother. We viewed dophins, porpoises, seals and sea birds. We enjoyed the day and would recommend to anyone wishing a nice day on the bay to use his service

We recently had a wonderful experience with Captain Kirk's, using them for a memorial service and ash scattering ceremony. We ultimately ended up on the Osprey departing from Alameda and enjoyed the scenic ride out past the Bay Bridge and past Treasure Island. Captain Efe and Heather were very personable and informative along the way. Thank you to Sue for making the logistics (booking, questions, trip detail and payment) seamless along the way. Sue was fantastic in dealing with last minute boat issues, managing to get us rebooked on a boat with minimal changes. It was a relief to deal with a company that is well versed in memorial services and were willing to accommodate our requests in regards to a Buddhist ceremony, complete with a monk.

We booked a 2 hour charter to spread ashes for a family member. From the first call to the final voyage everything was handled perfectly. This is a private charter which we felt was better suited for our needs. The communication was great and helpful as we had to coordinate people coming in from different parts of the country. We had our elderly mom with us and Captain Mark and Ruby really went out of their way to make sure she was comfortable and warm. They explained various sights and points of interest as we made our way to Kirby Cove. Thank you for taking our father to his final resting place. We will definitely rebook for a different charter should our travels bring us back to the bay area.

Beautiful and Memorable Ash Scattering

Captain Sparky and Fiona were wonderful on our SF Bay sail to scatter my mom’s ashes. They were communicative before and during the trip, were sensitive to the reason for our outing, and in general made our group feel comfortable and at ease. In my opinion, they went above and beyond when they our mobility-impaired friend to feel comfortable on the boat, so that she could participate and have a wonderful sailing experience. I would also highly recommend the caterer that Captain Kirk’s Sail uses, Maude Bailey (Bradley). To be able to treat my family to the sail and such delicious food helped to make a difficult occasion beautiful and memorable.
